Now in its sixth year, the Folens Overseas Teaching Fund has awarded €5,000 to Primary and Post-Primary teachers in Ireland who have committed their time and energies to teaching as part of a volunteer or charitable programme over the summer. The €5,000 was split into five individual awards of €1,000. Each winning candidate received €500 to help finance their trip and the balance of €500 was donated to their programme, overseas teaching school or organisation.
