What's in store?

Stephen Graham M.Ed., B.Ed., Dip.Tea. is a Professional Development Literacy Consultant who has presented at major national and International conferences. He is an educator with a wealth of teaching experience. He is a truly inspirational presenter who is passionate about educating children. Stephen lives in the real world and knows the issues confronting educators. Originally from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, Stephen is a truly inspirational presenter who is passionate about improving the learning outcomes for students. Stephen has successfully completed many PD sessions with Folens and our customers over the last number of years and his writing workshops are a firm favourite with teachers.

Professional Development Session: Explicitly Teaching Writing

In this session we will look at how we as teachers can explicitly teach children to write. We will look at the importance of building oral language to enable students to write. We will look at nine major text types and then focus on the Explanation and Exposition text types. This will be a practical session where we will orally construct and write texts together. The session length is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
