Lesson Plans and Assessment Templates for Junior Cycle English

 

Our Take the Plunge! authors, Fiona and Edel, have created three lesson plans you might like to try with your second and third year English students. These plans will help you to use work completed during the year as a springboard for assessment. They include templates to help students plan their work and teacher-feedback rubrics for quick, consistent assessment and reporting.

Fiona Kirwan and Edel O'Donovan are the authors of Dive In! and Take the Plunge!. Fiona teaches at Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, Kerry. She served on the INOTE executive committee for a number of years and carried out work for the NCCA as part of the consultation process for Junior Cycle English. Edel is deputy principal at St. Angela's College, Cork. She has spoken at a number of conferences including those run by the NAPD and the Network of School Planners Ireland, she has also worked as an assistant examiner with the SEC.
